Researching songs similar to the ones I want to create. Girls and Boys- Blur

Image
The video for Girls and Boys- Blur incorporates the band performing the song in-front of a green screen. The Mise en scene includes a majority of young white people in a collage of different clips of them on holidays and are being portrayed as the stereotypical Brit on holiday ( loud and drunk). The use of bright colours and tones relates to the idea of the people being on holiday and all having a laidback lifestyle and having fun, which reflects the lyrics in the song "following the herd, down to Greece, on holiday". In addition, the fast pace of the video and the almost chaotic nature reflects the message in the video of love and sexuality being fluid instead of being linear and rigid. At the beginning, a light bulb is being switched on and off which could represent the start of an idea or the beginning of something new and turning on light bulb is often used to symbolise a new thought, the new thought could be related to the new way of looking at love and sexuality and t...

My perfect audience member- The two above images are taken from the website uktribes.com, and I think they show a brief insight into my perfect audience member. The image on the right is of a girl who I can see fitting as my target audience as a socially conscious, 16-25 year old who is from the middle to upper market group. Her Fashion isn't quite mainstream and I can see her wanting to listen to music which is known as 'underground' so that in herself she feels like she politically 'woke' and listens to artists that not your average person will listen to. In addition, I think my target audience will be mainly females who don't want to 'fit in' as the song is all about representation of females who are not 'prim nor proper'. I think my audience member is the sort of person who will listen to 90s-00s rock or indie rock, featuring artists such as Blur, The pixies, Oasis, Weezer, Arctic monkeys and The strokes. They may also like to listen to...

Mood board for Cherry bomb

Image
My intent behind this mood board was the create an atmosphere and aesthetic which I think fits the song Cherry Bomb, and my vision for my music video well. The song has a lot of built up teen angst and that is expressed through the lyrics which refers to promiscuity and rebellious behaviour and I think the aesthetic and colour scheme of the board reflects this well.  The use of the colour red symbolises her promiscuity and is directly linked to "cherry bomb", and the use of the dark tones and black adds to the idea that the girl is saying she is not this sort of pure little angel that her parents can control and cover her eyes with wool her whole life. In the centre there is an image of a woman, in front of some smashed glass in a mirror, this is because I would like my music video to feature a girl smashing a mirror as a representation of her anger against how young girls are meant to present themselves and how she wants to present herself. In addition, this is a very ...
