Key elements to include in the music video checklist
Key elements of the music video checklist:
· I will aim to use a variety of shot types, to keep up with the fast tempo of the song.
· I would like to use of lot low angle shots particularly of the protagonist, to capture their face with a perspective that makes them look more powerful and assertive.
· I would like to include a Varity of locations from suburban to urban areas. I would like to use a graffitied wall as one background, as I feel that nicely captures the rebelliousness associated with teenagers and the song.
· I would like to include intertextuality with her costume -lingerie- however I would like to tone it down slightly to be less revealing so that I can shoot the video in public places.
· I would also like to include intertextuality by having someone play a guitar or a bass in some of the shots, to pay homage to the other band members that were in the music video.
· In terms of mise-en-scene, I would like to add an atmosphere which makes it feel grungier or that expresses the built-up teenage angst. I might do this by having people wear darker clothing or I will adjust the image colour on adobe photoshop.
· The protagonist will be a young female 16-18 and I would like them to have a certain aspect to them which makes them less conforming e.g- dyed hair or piercings.
· The social groups I will use will be young adults/teenagers and some parents or older people to show the divide between the two generations and highlight the lyric “hello daddy, hello mom”.
· Lastly, I think it would be an interesting dynamic to have the parents as quite religious to show that they are really against the promiscuous and rebellious actions of their daughter.
